Smart Girls Smart Choices Inc. welcomes our new Charleston, South Carolina chapter!
Smart Girl Mantra...As a Smart Girl I choose to: be confident, be strong, know my worth, be charitable and inspire others.
Mission
Smart Girls Smart Choices Inc. (SGSC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing the resources necessary to embolden young girls to make positive decisions that maximize their full potential.
We are committed to ensuring that young girls realize their self-worth in order to gain a sense of hope and identity. Our programs are designed to encourage our participants to thoughtfully develop, articulate and achieve their aspirations.
Services
We mentor young girls between the ages of 11 and 17, by providing training and development opportunities to build character, refrain from socially unacceptable behaviors, and discover their self-worth. Nurturing these critical components serve to inspire young girls to establish themselves as self-sufficient, civic minded members and leaders of our communities.
Why We Do What We Do
The ages of 11-17 are transformative years for many adolescents. During these years, many adolescents encounter new experiences that may present challenges associated with academics, friendships, peer pressure, sex and even substance use. Research has shown that adolescents who engage in prevention and intervention activities, such as those provided by Smart Girls Smart Choices, are less likely to participate in risky behaviors.
How are we impacting our community?
